Smoothies are one of the easiest ways to add fruits and vegetables to your diet. Yes, I said fruits and vegetables. To balance out all the sugars in fruits, you need to add in some veggies. In fact, a general rule of thumb is to do a 50/50 split. Now, don’t be scared of adding those veggies to your smoothies. They add vitamins and nutrients that your body needs, and believe it or not, they rarely mess with the overall tasty goodness of the fruits.
You can also add chia seeds, turmeric, and cinnamon to your smoothies for an extra dose of goodness. Did you know that cinnamon increases your metabolism? Sign me up!! Turmeric naturally reduces inflammation? That’s always a good thing. And chia seeds, well, somehow these little buggers pack one heck of a nutritional punch, so you might as well toss ’em in there!
